Terms of Business

  • Fal joinery & Damp proofing is the trading name of 3wind Ltd.
  • A deposit to cover materials etc. will be required before any work is due to commence on the property.
  • Upon acceptance of the quotation a deposit will be due seven days prior to work commencing. Failure to pay may result in loss of booking.
  • A set of keys to the property is required for access. These will be returned upon completion of works and payment of the final balance.
  • Access to site is required between the hours of 7:30am and 6pm Mon-Fri inclusive of bank holidays. Any work outside of the normal hours will be agreed upon by prior arrangement.
  • We will regularly carry out site inspections to ensure works are carried out in accordance with the specification in the estimate.
  • The Customer is responsible for the protection of furniture and furnishings both interior and exterior
  • All payments are due within 2 days of invoicing.
  • 14 days after date of invoicing a 10% +vat late charge fee will added.
  • Unpaid invoice's may be passed to a debt collection services.
  • Further charges may be added to cover cost of legals and/or enforcement fees.
  • Weekly stage payments will still be due weekly even if a part week has been worked for example due to a bad weather day or bank holiday
  • Any materials fitted remain the property of Fal Joinery & Damp Proofing until the final invoice has been paid in full; non-payment of the final invoice may result in the removal of Fal Joinery property.
  • By accepting these terms and conditions you agree to the stage payments and value of the estimate in line with the agreed schedule
  • Any works not specified in the estimate will not be carried out until an estimate for the additional work has been agreed upon
  • Unforeseen urgent work that is required for safety reasons will be estimated for as soon as is practicable e.g. hidden structural work such as bracing a failed lintel, discovery of asbestos or emergency electrical works to make a site safe. If such works are deemed as necessary to ensure safety on site and safety of the structure it may not be possible to provide a full estimate prior to such urgent work being undertaken. We will always advise as best we can on potential costs and if needed will pause work onsite to allow for a full assessment so that specialist contractors can assess issues in order to advise on the best course of action.
  • Special order items and custom materials cannot be refunded
  • Lime mortar is mixed and ordered specifically for each property once ordered it cannot be returned or refunded. If it cannot be used on the project, it will be left with the client who can sell it or arrange for disposal. On an individual basis we may be able to assist with disposal, but it will incur additional charges.
  • Cancellation of work by the client - The client must give notice in writing to Fal Joinery & Damp Proofing with a minimum of 30 days’ notice so that materials and sub-contractors can be notified. Any materials that cannot be returned or incur re-stocking fees shall be
    • charged for including a 20% admin fee with a minimum of £100 charge. Any labour or other costs incurred shall be charged for. This includes materials that have been pre-purchased and deposits that have been paid to subcontractors.
  • Cancellation of works by Fal Joinery & Damp Proofing – We reserve the right to withdraw our services from site, whist still recovering the costs of any labour and materials incurred to date. This includes deposits paid to sub-contractors, materials pre-ordered, and project management costs. Withdrawal of services will occur in the following situations; late payment of stage payments, breakdown in client relationship, inability to access site, unsafe working conditions, inclement weather, unforeseen works outside of Fal Joinery’s capabilities, disagreements pertaining to estimations, job scope or working procedures.
  • Any complaints must be made in writing and sent to our registered address as well as emailed to . Once received an acknowledgement will be sent within 5 working days along with further advice on our complaint’s procedure.
  • Fal Joinery & Damp Proofing will accept no liability or responsibility for any damage caused by the scaffolders or through the erecting of the scaffolding. This includes but is not limited to, paint work, render, surface finishes, roofing, windows and doors. The scaffolding is supplied and fitted by a subcontracting company, and any damages or complaints must be directed to them directly.
  • Fal Joinery & Damp proofing will accept no liability for damaged caused due to extreme weather events during the course of our works and any resulting damage.
  • We strongly encourage all our clients to ensure that they have the necessary insurance in place to cover building works.
  • Your Statutory Rights: Nothing contained within these terms and conditions affects or will affect your statutory rights as a purchaser of goods or services from Fal Joinery and damp proofing
  • The Terms and Conditions may only be altered in writing by a representative of the Company. The Terms and Conditions cannot be altered in any way by oral representations by any representative of the Company, the Company’s operatives or staff and no liability will be accepted by the company for anything said to the Customer by its representative of staff.
